Long Arm Classes
Rental Class I
This class is offered for those who want to rent the Gammill Premier in our studio.
A 3-4 hour class is mandatory to rent the long arm.
You will learn how to load a quilt, determine panto design, thread choices, and the basic mechanics of quilting a quilt.
Premier - Beginning Long Arm Quilt Class
Intermediate Long Arm QuiltingThis class covers maintenance, setup to Pantographs, thread, light custom, and a lot in between.
If you have just purchased a long arm, or are thinking of buying one, this is the class for you. You will learn how to load your quilt and the basics of using the machine. It will cover basic free motion quilting such as all over loops, swirls and meander, etc. We will also cover using an all-over pantograph pattern-how to set it up and how to roll your quilt using the pattern. You will use a laser light on the machine to follow the pantograph pattern. By the end of the class you will be able to quilt and all-over design on your quilt.
This class starts where the beginning class ends. Learn how to use rulers, stencils, mark your quilt, determine design elements, thread considerations, etc.

Advanced Custom LA Quilting
In this class you will learn how to quickly analyze a quilt for pattern selection using simple methods.
This is a workshop for up to 4 students, where you will learn how to approach custom quilting when your brain is frozen. Learn how to tap into your creative juices and get started designing quilting for any quilt. You will learn tried and true techniques that will open up your creative world.
Creative Studio I
If you've just purchased a computerized machine, or if you are thinking of purchasing a computerized machine, this is the class for you. Limit 2 per class.
This is an introduction to Creative Studio and quilting with the Statler Stitcher. You will learn maintenance of the machine, how to load a quilt properly, batting selection, thread and bobbin discussions followed by a hands-on approach to Edge to Edge sewing. We will also discuss file and pattern organization, loading patterns, and Creative Studio basics using the training stitch out.
You are welcome to attend this class as a refresher if you have taken it once before.
Creative Studio II
After a short refresher on the basics of CS, you will explore the power of Creative Studio using blocks, borders, point to point and many other features.If you've mastered the panto on CS, and are now ready to learn how to do custom work, this is the class. Plus, you will learn many tried and true long arm techniques that will help you become an incredible quilter.
