Long Arm Rental

I appreciate that there are some quilters who want to have 100% of their own work and TLC in their finished quilts.  For those, we have a long-arm rental service.  These are the steps to participate in this service.

TRAINING

Take the 2-3 hour long-arm class at RDQ for $20/hour.  These classes are offered by appointment. 

This class is the beginning long-arm quilting class, taught on our Gammill 22" Vision, stitch-regulated machine, with a 18" throat space.  This machine was chosen specifically for it's simplicity and ease of use.  You will love this machine.  NO PINS!  Also, we use an efficient quick snap system to load the quilt backs, so you will never poke yourself with a pin.

In the class you will learn how to load your quilt and the basics of using the machine, such as bringing up the thread from the bottom, and starting and ending properly.  You will learn to quilt an all-over pantograph pattern with a laser guided light.   By the end of the class you will be able to quilt an all-over design on your own quilt. 

Once you've taken the basic long-arm class(about 2 hours), we invite you to rent our long-arm machine by the hour and get those quilt tops made into quilts.  The machine rents for $ 20/hour.   The fee includes thread and "coaching".  Machine rental is by appointment, and the hours are flexible.  We have many Pantograph patterns you may use, and we are willing to order others if you find something you would like to quilt.

We do sell almost every type of batting, and we have on hand over 50 bolts of 108" backing fabric. Feel free to purchase these from us, or   bring your own.
